A charity has given out grants totalling more than £16,000 to help community groups and causes across North Somerset.

Nailsea Community Trust has helped individuals by paying for the cost of school camps, music tuition, athletic training and essential household goods during the past financial year.

Grants have also been given out to organisations and community events including Nailsea Community Skatepark Festival, Nailsea Festival of Music, flower shows, Wellspring Counselling, the leg club, the over-50s lunch club and an outdoor education project at Nailsea School.

The trust also granted funds for chairs at the United Reformed church, repairs to the Methodist church's lift and equipment for the Citizens Advice Bureau.
