North Somerset Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) has pledged to improve patient safety.

It is backing the Sign Up To Safety campaign which looks to address any problems surrounding unsafe patient care in the NHS.

As part of the scheme, the CCG will identify any areas for concern and make improvements. Patients, health staff and other members of the community will be consulted.

Mary Backhouse, chief clinical officer for the CCG, said: “By joining Sign Up To Safety, we are promising all patients and staff in North Somerset CCG we are placing the safety of patient care above all else.

“We will achieve this by learning from each other and focusing on areas where we can make care safer.”
