MUMS and youngsters helped to raise money for a children’s communication charity by taking part in a Chatterbox Challenge event.

Those attending Talking Tots classes in Portishead - which encourage good language and communication skills in pre-school children - gave donations to ICAN as part of the national
fundraising event which was expected to involve thousands of children from across the UK.

As part of its work, ICAN provides speech and language therapists for youngsters who need extra support and also trains school teachers to support children with communication difficulties.

At Talking Tots, which meets at The Playport and is run by Catherine Evans, children took part in fun-packed activities including colour picture games, action rhymes and songs, all following a theme of Friends in the Garden.
