DOGS from across North Somerset can now enjoy a swift beer or ‘chicken pawfitterole’ at a new canine caf.

Carolyn Price, the owner of The Groom Room in Nailsea, has set up the new Dogs Palace to enable pet owners to splash out on some tasty treats for their pooches.

Dogs Palace is opening next month and will feature a grooming spa, boutique and K9 caf and will employ six staff although Carolyn is hoping to increase this number once the salon takes off.

She said: “Our new salon will resemble an up-market beauty spa rather than your average dog grooming parlour.”

Some of the items on the K9 caf menu include ‘banana pupcakes’, ‘cheese muttfins’ and non alcoholic beer made from herbs and chicken juice. Owners can even hold birthday parties for their beloved pets at the venue and order specially-made cakes and treats for their dogs.

All cakes are made by a specialist canine patisserie to ensure the ingredients are natural, organic and nutritious for the dogs.

Since the Groom Room opened five years ago, Carolyn has built up a client base of nearly 2,000 people who come from all over the south west and Wales to pamper their pooches with massages, baths, nail trims and mud pack treatments.

She has now moved her business into bigger premises at 98-100 High Street in Nailsea and renamed it The Dogs’ Palace.

An open evening and launch party is being held at the new venue on November 10 from 4pm. For a personal invite email thegroomroom@blueyonder.co.uk or call 01275 541438.
