A CARETAKER who has clocked up 30 years continuous service in Portishead has been thanked by the town council.
John Clark, chairman of Portishead Town Council, presented Peter Leah with a solid brass nautical clock to mark the milestone.
Peter, who moved to Portishead in 1974, has been caretaker of the Folk Hall, the town council’s headquarters, since 1982.
In addition to his work at the Folk Hall, grandfather Peter can be seen caretaking at High Down Infant School, where he is also a school governor, and at the town’s cemetery.
