A car has been completely destroyed by a fire after it burst into flames in Backwell Leisure Centre.

Crews from Nailsea Fire Station were called to the incident at 12.44pm today (Thursday) in the leisure centre car park off Farleigh Road.

The Ford Escort was well alight when firefighters arrived and the blaze caused 100 per cent damage to the vehicle.

The cause of the fire was accidental and nobody was injured in the incident.
