A NEW caf has opened in Portishead High Street.
Scrumptious Coffee Shop, run by Portishead mum-of-two Carolyn Alderton, sits in the Old Bake House premises at 42a High Street. This is the fourth unit to open in the Old Bake House building, which is set back from the main street, between Bennett’s Barbers and the Card Shop.
The caf, which is open from 8am-5pm Monday to Saturday, offers hot and cold drinks, a wide range of freshly made sandwiches, baguettes, paninis and rolls, with gluten-free bread and decaffeinated beverage options available. Cakes, pastries and cookies are also available on the menu and all the food is also available to take away. Carolyn said: “I wanted to open a comfortable, family friendly caf where children are welcome. We not only offer children’s meals and high chairs but also provide a selection of toys for them to play with.”
Free wi-fi is also available and for people in a hurry, a telephone ordering service is available to help cut any waiting time.
Carolyn added: “I’m hoping that delicious fresh food, a warm welcome and friendly atmosphere will appeal to the Portishead community and I look forward to offering our customers a first class service.”
