A television vet popped in to see pupils at Portbury's school.

James Greenwood, from CBBC’s The Pet Factor, visited children at St Mary’s Primary School to talk about look after animals.

James took a dog called Ollie with him when he went to the school.

The children had the chance to listen to Ollie’s heartbeat and got to dress up as vets for the day too.

A school spokesman said: “We had a great time meeting the team and hope they will visit us again soon.”

The Pets Factor is broadcast by the BBC and tracks stories of ill animals on their way to recovering from illness and injury.

James and presenter Stacey Dooley have filmed several episodes of the show in North Somerset after teaming up with Watkins & Tasker and its Portishead centre.
