A chef who has worked in a Michelin-star restaurant and cooked for the Queen has opened a new patisserie.
Marco Pilloni, originally from Sardinia, set up his first patisserie at The White Hart, in Weston-in-Gordano, last year and has now opened his second base at Venga, a tapas bar and restaurant in Portishead High Street.
The 37-year-old, who previously worked at Club Gascon in London as a head pastry chef, said his new base will incorporate traditional Spanish-themed desserts to fit with Venga’s cuisine.
He added: “Shoppers looking for a morning coffee meeting place or for a light lunch will now be able to try my tasty and colourful traditional and contemporary cakes or buy lovely artisan breads and treats to take home.”
The talented chef trained under Claire Clark, who worked at a three-star Michelin restaurant in California and at the Royal Opera House.
