Store Twenty One: Shop closes down in Nailsea town centre
PUBLISHED: 07:00 19 July 2017
A clothing retailer in Nailsea has closed after going into liquidation.
Store Twenty One had a shop in Somerset Square but that, along with 121 others across the UK, has closed down after investment failed to materialise. An estimated 900 jobs have been lost across the country.
Recovery firm Quantuma has been appointed to handle a liquidation process.
Quantuma partner Simon Bonney said: “It is very sad matters have got to the stage where all the stores were closed by management following a prolonged period of uncertainty leading up to the liquidation.
“We are now in the process of conducting an orderly wind-down and we would welcome contact from any interested parties who may wish to purchase assets of the company.”
Loss-making Store Twenty One has found high street trading tough in recent years.
In April, the company’s management filed a notice to appoint administrators after the firm was served with a winding-up notice by HM Revenue & Customs.
