STAFF and customers visiting Portishead’s Sainsbury’s supermarket now have the chance to get there using public transport after a new bus stop was installed.

First West of England has adjusted its X3 service so passengers can get on and off at the Serbert Way store.

The change came into effect on Sunday and has been funded using some of the section 106 funding given to North Somerset by developers toward improvements in Portishead.

Store manager Paul Morrison said: “Since the opening of the store at the end of October customers have been asking for us to be on the bus route, so this is something that we have all been working towards.

“We are delighted that this is finally happening and we look forward to having a bus stop in the car park to make shopping at Sainsbury’s easier for many more people.”
