SCHOOLCHILDREN in Pill were on hand to officially open a new community supermarket in Pill.
Pupils from Crockerne Primary School were also presented with a donation for 500 during the opening of the Southern Co-operative’s new store in Baltic Place.
It has been set up in the unit formerly used as a Nisa convenience store and has created 13 new jobs.
Shop manager Ed Hearn said: “I’m really looking forward to working closely with the Pill community now we’ve opened this new store.
“We will be launching a community support card scheme in the New Year too, which gives local charities the opportunity to bid for a donation of 10,000, so do look out for information about this in the store.”
