A WIND TURBINE business has become the first to move into a new facility in Clevedon.

The Enterprise Development Centre has recently been created at Clevedon Hall, in Elton Road, with the aim of helping small and medium-sized businesses grow, as well as providing them with professional facilities.

Goodridge Environmental is a creator of specialist wind turbines used to generate power in remote areas.

The company was formed in June following the purchase of the business assets of the Forgen range of turbines, which are used extensively on pleasure boats and to charge batteries in isolated conditions.

Goodridge Environmental CEO Chris Williams, who lives in Clevedon, said: “The Enterprise Development Centre is perfect for an aspiring young business like ours.

“Discussions with the management team have already helped save our business nearly 3,000 by following their advice on using hosted shared-platform software.”

* Clevedon Hall has also opened its doors for private functions this year for the first time in its history.

On July 24 the first ever wedding ceremony was held in the Orangery of the Victorian mansion.

Lucy Lockett and Alan Johnson, who live in Plymouth, selected Clevedon Hall as their venue as they have family members scattered across the country and felt Clevedon was the best and most convenient location.
