The firm which owns Royal Portbury Dock has a new chief executive.

David Brown has been confirmed in the top job by Terence Mordaunt and David Ord, founding members of The Bristol Port Company.

He joined the company in 2008.

A company spokesman said: “The Bristol Port Company continues to grow and has had a very strong year, with the automotive industry and the agricultural sector performing particularly well.

“This growth is in spite of losing significant volumes of coal imports as a result of the political decisions to move towards cleaner fuels.”
