THE future of Comet in Clevedon still hangs in the balance as administrators confirmed a further 56 jobs at the town’s call centre will be axed.
Deloitte announced 735 redundancies will be made in the company’s head office, central functions and its home delivery network.
The news of the job losses at the centre at Windmill Business Park off Kenn Road follows last week’s announcement that a further 42 jobs would be axed at the site as a result of the electrical giant going into administration.
It also announced Comet will be closing 41 stores by the end of November, unless a buyer is found.
The first 27 shops have been notified and begun closing down sales and 14 other stores will follow suit once the staff have been told.
