GLASTONBURY Festival founder and green champion Michael Eavis cut the ribbon on a new community car charging station.

The solar carport at the Brockley base of Solarsense, the region’s leading renewable energy specialist, has been installed as a free community facility for anyone wishing to charge their electric vehicles.

On September 8, Mr Eavis took along his own car to be charged during the opening event.

The carport can be found at Solarsense in Brockley Lane and will be open during business hours.
