A PORTISHEAD businesswoman is retiring after eight years serving snacks at Portishead Marina.
Jenny Williams, who has run The Galley snack van, close to the lock gates, since 2003, is handing over the reins to her daughter Kath Mayo.
The 63-year-old caterer said: “The lease to trade at the docks was due to run out in September when I was going to retire, but we were given the opportunity to extend it for a further two years.
“I had planned to step back from the business and Kath who has worked part-time with me for the past three years, jumped at the chance to take it over.”
Jenny says she will still be lending a helping hand now and then and she, along with her daughter, will continue to support Carols on the Quay, an evening carol singing event at Quayside Marina in December and the annual Jazz on the Quay festival each summer.
