All businesses which serve food must pass regular food standard inspections, and the North Somerset Times can reveal the best-performing premises from 2016.
A total of 86 establishments in North Somerset achieved the maximum five-star rating last year after impressing judges.
Inspectors survey everything from a venue’s cleanliness through to its storage procedures and staff training.
Not all premises are inspected every year, and only those reviewed during 2016 (and within the Times’ core area) are included in the interactive map above.
