A WATERSIDE pub restaurant in Portishead has been shortlisted in the 2013 Restaurant and Bar Design Awards.
Hall and Woodhouse Portishead, which was designed by Mackenzie Wheeler, has been shortlisted in the pub category.
The contemporary two-storey building is built from recycled shipping containers and pays homage to the town’s marine heritage through its design. It incorporates 28 shipping containers, some of which serve as private dining rooms or meeting spaces. The venue in Newfoundland Way opened in November.
David Hoare, from Hall and Woodhouse, said: “We are delighted to be recognised for our design in such prestigious awards. We get some fantastic comments from guests and slowly Hall and Woodhouse Portishead is becoming a key part of the local community.”
The awards are designed to celebrate the very best in restaurant and bar design. The winners will be announced during a ceremony at London’s Farmiloe Building on September 12.
