WORLD renowned chef Gordon Ramsay paid a visit to a Portishead restaurant while filming his latest TV show.

Staff and customers at the Lockhouse Lounge next to the town’s open air pool had the chance to meet the TV personality on September 21.

The evening before, lounge owner Deborah Griffith received a call from the film crew for the Channel 4 show, Ramsay’s Best Restaurant, to say they wanted to use the venue to carry out some interviews.

A Bristol restaurant will be featured in the latest series and the interviews were with its owner.

After carrying out their filming, Gordon and his crew visited Deborah’s second business, the Lockhouse Bar and Restaurant at Portishead’s marina.

While there, they spoke to diners and also went into the kitchen to talk to the two chefs, Peter Yarrow and Jonathan Haliburton.

Deborah said: “He was a really nice guy.

“Gordon spent some time in the kitchen with the chefs and asked guests how their lunch was.

“He said he would be back and that he wouldn’t be surprised if we were nominated to appear in next year’s competition.”

Ramsay’s Best Restaurant searches for the best food establishments around the UK, which have to be nominated by members of the public to be considered for the show.
