A DEVELOPMENT company has said it remains ‘fully committed’ to creating a new business park near Clevedon.

Since 2009, St Modwen has been responsible for a plot of land off Kenn Road in Kenn where one year previously outline planning permission was granted for the creation of a business park.

In 2010, the firm applied to North Somerset Council for permission to allow the development to be built in stages due to the market conditions at the time, which bosses hoped would make the development more attractive to potential occupiers.

However, nothing has yet happened on the land and St Modwen has had to apply for the planning permission to be renewed.

Ian Guy, Clevedon Business Park senior development manager for St. Modwen, said: “We are fully committed to Clevedon. Development at the business park is of course occupier driven, as with any other development of this nature.

“We are receiving increased levels of occupier enquiries for the site this year as the general economic outlook improves.”
