Portishead Town Council has raised no objections to plans for a former High Street bank to be turned into a dental surgery.
The Dental Clinic wants to move from The Precinct into the old Co-operative bank.
It says its current base is no longer big enough for its 8,000 patients.
The town council did not feel Portishead’s retail offering would suffer if the move happens, because the building used to be a bank, rather than a shop.
In an online poll, 85 per cent of Times readers surveyed supported the dental surgery’s idea.
