Tesco could soon host a car wash service at its supermarket in Clevedon.
Car wash company Waves has submitted a planning application to North Somerset Council as it wants to take over nine parking spaces in the store’s car park.
It would cater for up to six cars at any one time and involve putting up a canopy and small portable cabin office in the space as well.
The cabin would act as reception for the business and is where customers would go to pay.
Waves believes the introduction of the car wash will create ‘new and sustainable economic growth’ in the area, including an estimated eight full-time or part-time jobs.
Drivers would be able to stay in their cars during the service, or leave it with the car wash attendants while they do their shopping.
The proposed opening hours for the car wash at the Kenn Road store would be 9am-6pm Monday to Saturday and 10am-4pm on Sunday.
