A NEW bookmakers opened in Portishead in time for this year’s Grand National, welcoming hundreds of customers through its doors on one of the industry’s busiest days of the year.
A former cycle shop in the town’s Stoke Road has been given a new lease of life as the Winning Post Betting Centre.
The unit is under the new ownership of Lee Holbrook, who along with his father Roy, owns several betting shops in and around Bristol.
The ultra modern shop environment has brightened up this busy corner of the town and Lee says he is looking forward to becoming a part of the Portishead community.
He will be joined by staff John Holmes and Jess Green, who are both familiar faces from past bookmakers in Portishead.
