A Clevedon engraving business has completed an expansion of its premises.

Brunel Engraving, in Britannia Way, has increased its workshop space by 25 per cent while the building’s interior has been opened up to make room for new equipment and staff.

The expansion comes after the business has seen a significant increase in industrial and commercial demand.

Brunel has also earned the latest industry standard accreditation which allows it to do business with companies in specific industrial sectors where it is mandatory.

Martyn Wright, founder and director, said: “We have expanded our existing premises to house new laser engraving and etching equipment which will enable our staff to answer an increase in demand for these services.

“We are also actively looking to recruit new people to join our sales, administration and production teams.

“This puts us in a strong position to increase our production efficiently and effectively, and at the same time the facilities for our staff will be improved to provide a better space in which to work and utilise the most up to date machinery.

“There has been a significant increase in the industrial and commercial sectors of our business and the latest ISO accreditation will enable Brunel to do business with companies in specific industrial and commercial sectors where this is considered essential.

Brunel Engraving is one of Clevedon’s longest-standing firms having started life based in a small office next to the Curzon cinema almost 30 years ago.

It has since grown to become one of the most successful engraving businesses in the country.

The company has carried out work nationwide including the Isis sculpture in London’s Hyde Park and Shakespeare’s New Place in Stratford-upon-Avon.

More locally, the business has also worked on individual plaques on Clevedon Pier and completed the inscriptions around the plinth on a statue commemorating former Bristol City Football Club striker John Atyeo at Ashton Gate.
