A PORTISHEAD company has devised a pioneering delivery management system that is already being used by a large European firm.
Software developers, Amethyst, have created the system to give operators greater control of their delivery and collection process by using a dedicated website that is linked to their IT system and giving hand held computers to delivery drivers.
The system, which is now used by European supply chain provider, Wincanton, then allows vehicle checks, product scanning, real-time monitoring, proof of delivery and data analysis to be carried out.
Lee Dowson of Amethyst, which is based at Kestrel Court Business Centre, said: “We are delighted our system has been so well received by such a prominent supply chain company as Wincanton.
“It has given us the confidence to approach a number of other organisations who we believe will see the difference it could make to their businesses.”
