A PORTISHEAD housing firm is the second employer in the South West to be awarded the Gold Equality Standard.
Andy Perry from Alliance Homes received the award from Equality South West chief executive Katie Pratt at a special presentation in November.
The scheme was introduced by Equality South West in 2010 to encourage employers to recognise the importance of understanding equality when dealing with both staff and customers.
Andy, equality and diversity manager at Alliance Homes, said: “For us at Alliance Homes, equality and diversity is about better understanding the needs of service users and staff so that we can try to meet them in the day to day delivery of our services.”
