Roads around Clevedon, Congresbury, Kenn and Yatton will be closed today (Tuesday) as part of North Somerset Council’s road improvements plan.

Roadworks will run from 9.30am-3.30pm on Smallway and Kenn Road, meaning North Somerset drivers will need to find an alternative route.

The temporary road closures are being put in force so the council and its highways contractor can improve the road surface.

Bus services are being re-routed as a result.

A First Bus spokesman said Yatton’s services will be most affected.

They said: “Kenn Road, Yatton will be closed to service X7 between 9.30am-3.30pm on July 4.

“The X7 will not be able to service the A370 between M5 junction 21 and Kenn Road at the junction of Central and Southern Way.

“Unfortunately Yatton will not be able to be served during this period.”

A diversion route has been set up to ensure motorists’ disruption is minimal.
