VILLAGERS in Wraxall will no longer be left without a bus service, thanks to new firm Abus.

Passengers were concerned they would be left stranded after North Somerset Coaches announced its closure and First reorganised its routes and excluded Wraxall. Abus has now decided to put in a service for Wraxall from November 11, with free journeys for passengers until November 13.

Services 354, 362 and 363, operated by First between Clevedon, Nailsea and Bristol, have now been combined into one service, but travel via Backwell not Wraxall. North Somerset Coaches will also withdraw its 55 and X54 services from Friday.

Abus will take over the 55 and X54 services which will run from Monday to Friday with departures from Wraxall at least every half hour to and from Bristol and Nailsea during peak times. Off-peak service 55 offers a two-hourly service into Bristol and Nailsea from 9.45am-3.45pm.
