A LUXURY flat in Portishead was raided by thieves who police believe were opportunist burglars.

Residents of the Centre Quay apartment block in Lower Burlington Road are being warned to be vigilant following the incident on Friday.

Burglars managed to get through a secure entrance of the building some time between 11.30am-3.50pm before getting into a flat.

They stole various items include a TV, computer and baggage.

Police believe the intruders may have followed another vehicle into the secure car parking area and gained entry through a communal security door.

They have urged residents to be vigilant and report any strangers or intruders.

Residents are reminded to always ensure community doors to buildings are shut and secure and that no-one follows them in, unless they know them.

Police have described the two suspects as two white, slim men, about 5ft 8ins tall and aged between 16-18. They are thought to have driven away in a blue hatchback-style vehicle.

Police are keen to hear from anyone who may have been in the area at the time of the incident who may have information to help their enquiries, particularly if they saw a vehicle matching the description.

Anyone able to help is asked to call Nailsea CID on the force non emergency number 101 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
