Fire fighters were called out on Sunday (July 28) to deal with a roof fire in Clapton-in-Gordano.

Crews from Portishead and Clevedon responded at around 4.30am after reports of smoke coming from a bungalow in Clevedon Lane.

On arrival crews identified the fire was 'well developed' and they were soon joined by engines from Nailsea, Avonmouth and Pill.

The fire was extinguished and following a further inspection at 10am, no hotspots were found.

An Avon Fire and Rescue service spokesman said the cause of the fire is under investigation and there were no injuries.
