The A370 has reopened after a crash this morning (Friday).

The road, at Brockley Combe, was shut by Avon and Somerset Constabulary following a crash which occurred at about 8.45am.

A car reportedly collided with a telegraph poll, forcing the A370 to be closed off for several hours.

A police spokesman said: "We're pleased to report the A370 near Brockley Combe has re-opened following a single-vehicle collision this morning.

"The woman driver is not believed to have been seriously injured.

"Thank you for your patience during the operation to re-open the road."

That stretch of the A370 is a popular one with passengers trying to reach Bristol Airport.

And with this weekend expected to be one of the busiest of the year, travellers were asked to leave extra time to make sure they reached the Lulsgate terminal in plenty of time to catch their flight.

Bus routes were diverted during the course of the closure.
