POTTERY and craft demonstrations as well as festive goodies will be on offer at a charity Christmas Fair in Nailsea on December 12.
And trainee caterers supported by the Brandon Trust will hand over a hamper of home-made treats to fundraisers who donated 1,000 towards re-equipping the team’s kitchen during the event, from 10.30am-3pm at Scotch Horn Leisure Centre.
The charity, which helps adults with learning difficulties, needs a further 4,000 for a new oven, dishwasher and utensils and to cover the cost of food hygiene training and equipment installation at the centre’s Crumbles kitchen.
The trust’s fundraising spokesman Martyn Williams said: “We’ve made a great start thanks to North Somerset Times readers who read about our Crumbles Kitchen Appeal and now we’ve got a really good opportunity to raise the rest of the funds by Christmas.”
Donations made by credit or debit card on Big Give’s Christmas Challenge website, www.thebiggive.org.uk from December 5-9, selecting Brandon Trust from the list of charities, will be doubled.
