Nailsea Bowls Club challenged a Congresbury team to a game of crown green bowls at Mizzymead Recreation Centre.

Twelve players from both clubs competed in the friendly contest.

Brian Powell, from Nailsea Bowls Club, who organised the event, said: "Crown green bowls, is a great game with balls flying all over the green, which was highly entertaining for the audience and players alike."

The score ended with 199 for Nailsea and 152 for Congresbury.

Ward Solicitors, which sponsored the event, presented the cup to Nailsea's team captain Brian Powell and engraved glasses to the winning bowlers.

The club thanked businesses who donated prizes for the raffle.
