CLEVEDON Community Bookshop has linked up with a jute works in Bangladesh as part of an initiative to support fair trade.
The Copse Road cooperative has had shopping bags with its logo created by Corr, a production company in Dhaka registered with the World Fair Trade Organisation which aims to alleviate poverty through the development of fair trade products.
During a recent trip to Dhaka, bookshop secretary Angela Everitt collected 500 of the bags to sell to customers back in Clevedon.
She has been involved in supporting fair trade in Bangladesh for a number of years and believes it makes a difference to poor women especially.
The bags are now available to buy in the shop for �3.
