PICTURESQUE blossom on the trees of a Clevedon orchard was appreciated by visitors to the site.

A special apple blossom viewing took place in the Millennium Orchard on Saturday and Sunday as part of efforts by environmental group, Transition Clevedon, to encourage more people to use the space.

The idea for this was taken from the Japanese tradition of cherry blossom viewing, which has been a custom of the country since the 7th century and sees people gathering to celebrate under the trees.

Transition Clevedon has taken over the running of the orchard for the next five years and hope to make it a community area used by more people once work has been carried out to tidy the area, which is off Brookfield Walk.
