DEDICATED members of a Mothers’ Union in Nailsea have knitted piles of jumpers and blankets to give out to babies and nursing homes.

Members of Christ Church Mothers’ Union and their friends have been busy knitting cardigans and blankets for children’s centres in North Somerset as well as squares which Margaret Newton (pictured) has sewn together to make knee blankets for nursing homes.

Mothers’ Union offers Christian care for families worldwide in 81 countries and it has more than four million members.

The group’s wide-ranging projects cover everything from development and literacy in African countries to local projects in children’s centres, prison visits and providing bonnets and booties for premature babies.
