Motorcyclists will meet up in Portishead later this month to remember one of their own who died in 2008.

Every February a memorial ride takes place to remember David ‘Jock’ Loudon.

Jock died in a crash on the Portbury Hundred but funds have been raised in his memory in recent years.

His widow Kath said: “Our ride will take place on February 25, meeting at 10am at the Homebase car park, riding into Bristol and on to Clevedon to meet for cuppa and a buttie at No 5 The Beach.

“We are hoping to make this event bigger than previous years.

“Weather will play its part at usual, however the hardcore of supporters will be there rain or shine to remember their friend.”

As it is a decade since Jock’s death, the event is joining forces with RoadPeace charity, which provides support to crash victims and their families.

Kath hopes this month’s memorial ride will raise greater awareness of road safety.
