A COAST to coast bike ride has raised more than 2,000 for Portishead Youth Centre.
A team of 10 volunteers from international company A-Gas, which has its headquarters in Portbury, cycled from Ilfracombe to Plymouth to raise the much needed funds.
A spokesman said: “We decided to support the youth centre because budgets cuts put its future in jeopardy. We hope our efforts will help keep youth workers in place and help keep the centre open.”
Youth Centre assistant manager Kim Dodd who received a cheque from the cycle team said: “We are very grateful for the support local businesses have given the youth centre and this is an exceptional and very much appreciated effort from A-Gas.”
