Cheese and wine tasting, ukulele performances, cookery demonstrations and poetry attracted scores of villagers to the new Barrow and Flax Festival.
The festival featured an opera gala, hypnotism, children's entertainment, live music and a three-course feast by Wilsons Restaurant in Bristol.
The event was organised by a team of villagers who were keen to revamp the former Barrow Gurney Festival.
Festival spokesman Felicity Duke said: "It was a hit. We've had some wonderful feedback from guests and all the events seemed to go really well.
"The performers were fabulous."
Zoe Coombs, of Matthew Clark, ran a wine tasting evening, while Masterchef finalist Tony Rodd put on cooking demonstrations.
Martin Taylor performed a hilarious evening of hypnotism and magic and ukulele virtuoso Andy Eastwood delighted music fans with hits from George Formby and Rossini to The Beatles.
