Two teenagers have been arrested following a number of barn fires in Long Ashton.

A 15-year-old boy and an 18-year-old man have been arrested in connection with the incidents which took place at a farm in Wild Country Lane at about 10.15pm on October 8 and 10.30pm on October 21.

They are currently on police bail pending further enquiries.

Neighbourhood sergeant Mark Raby said: “This sort of incident ties up the fire and rescue services.

“It could have serious consequences if it delays their response to a house fire or car crash, on top of the impact on the property’s owner and the risk of injury to the person starting the fire.

“I’d like people to be on the look-out for anyone acting suspiciously around farm buildings and to let us know straight away by calling 999 if they think a crime is underway.”

*Anyone with information on these incidents is urged to visit or call 101, quoting reference 5215024592.
