Lions clubs in North Somerset are looking for budding young musicians to join a new starter band.

The community organisations are giving youngsters aged from seven to 11 the opportunity to learn a brass instrument for free as part of its Brass 4 Youth initiative.

The sessions, starting in September, will be made up of fun group tutorials in the 1st Clevedon Scout hut in Great Western Road from 4.10-4.40pm on Fridays during term-time for about 16-18 months. Members could then have the opportunity to move on to other bands within the project. Children will also be provided with a free instrument and tutor book when they join.

Brass 4 Youth, which provides musical opportunities for people aged under 21, is a project run by Lions Clubs 105 SW, which provides support from Lions clubs across the South West.
