THREE women from Backwell are currently cycling the length of the country to raise money for charity.
The Backwell Babes - Lynette Blanchard, Amanda Swannell and Anne Richards - are pedalling from Land’s End to John O’Groats to raise cash for worthy causes. Lynette is raising money for Cancer Research UK, while Amanda and Anne are fundraising for Children’s Hospice South West.
The three women have been planning and training for the feat for more than a year and have raised thousands of pounds.
They were greeted by scores of supporters in Backwell on Thursday, where they stayed at their homes for one night, before being given a big send-off at 8am the next day.
