The Rock Project

Budding rock stars of the future can take part in a concert at Backwell.

The Rock Project is hosting concerts to showcase bands with members aged seven to 18.

Organisers are looking for more talented musicians to take part.

Students of The Rock Project are taught guitar, bass, drums and vocals by gigging musicians.

They can then perform in concerts which feature hi-tech lighting and sound equipment to create a professional gig.

Mike Aris, who runs the project, said: “The buzz of the gig is something else, but the whole lead up is a real confidence-builder for the students.

“The growth in skills and confidence they show week on week is amazing.”

The mucis oncerts will take place at Backwell School’s theatre, in Station Road, on July 7 at 2pm and 6.30pm.
