VOLUNTEERS who maintain a Clevedon river have been given a boost.
The Land Yeo Friends were presented with a Watermark Award for 150 to help the group buy a pressure washer.
This will be used to wash down the boat and trailer the volunteers use when clearing litter, debris and weed from the Land Yeo river.
The award was presented by Rebecca Gay of Wessex Water to David Robinson and Jackie Tait of the Land Yeo Friends, which was formed nine years ago.
David said: “Our hands-on approach means that several times a year we clear sections of the river of litter and other rubbish, as well as keeping the river clear of weeds and silt.”
