The group is also celebrating after seeing a record number of visitors at the nature reserve this year with 727 people taking part in tours and activities.

Volunteers hosted visits from schools, beaver, brownie and rainbow packs, girls’ brigade and church groups and nurseries and kids clubs.

Visitors enjoyed pond dipping, mini beast forays, plant identification, treasure hunts and quizzes.

The group holds open days on Wednesday afternoons from April to August.
