A recruitment campaign for control staff to work for Avon Fire and Rescue Service has been launched.
The service is seeking control staff before its training school in February.
Successful candidates will provide a vital service by dealing with 999 calls ranging from house fires to serious road traffic collisions.
Control staff mobilise resources, identify exact locations of incidents and provide safety advice to callers.
Andy Willcocks, head of fire control and communications, outlined the perfect candidate for the role.
He said: "Staff have to be a voice of calm for those in the moment of need, while also being able to maintain oversight of the service's resources and provide accurate communication between firefighters."
Applications will run until November 11 and applicants must hold a full UK driving licence and be aged 18 or over when training school commences on February 17.
