Firefighters tackled a blaze in Nailsea yesterday (Sunday), as flames spread from trees to a garden shed.

Avon Fire and Rescue Service was called to North Street at 6.19pm to reports of a tree fire which had spread to a garden shed.

The crews acted swiftly to snuff out the fire, which was started accidently.

A spokesman said: “Crews from Nailsea attended the fire and on arrival they found conifer trees on fire which were affecting a garden shed.

“Crews used two high-pressure hose reels to extinguish the fire, the cause of which was accidental.”
