Dr Liam Fox has represented the Conservatives in North Somerset and Woodspring since 1992.

Liberal Democrat leader Jo Swinson is targeting more than 100 seats in the House of Commons at the next General Election, and North Somerset is number 71 on the list.

Liberal Democrat Parliamentary candidate, Ashley Cartman, said: "Following the 2019 local elections in May, the number of Conservative councillors in the constituency was reduced from 19 to one.

"In the European elections, the Liberal Democrats also beat the Conservative Party into fourth place. There is a real sense change is possible."

Cllr Cartman will launch his campaign at Nailsea's Old Farmhouse, in Trendlewood Way, on Friday from 7-10pm.
