■ BIG hats and cream teas filled Backwell Parish Hall as villagers enjoyed an Ascot-themed tea party.

The free over 60s tea party was organised by Backwell Parish Council and 80 people turned up in fancy frocks, bow ties and big hats to tuck into sandwiches and cream teas.

Guests watched some horse racing and My Fair Lady to round off the occasion which organisers say was a great success.
